Spring 2010 Trip to Mackinaw City, MI

Its finally feeling like spring, and with the soccer season coming to an end, its time to hit the roads and explore more of the Upper Midwest.

This trip will be to check out the driving to the Mackinaw Island area via the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for a future vacation getaway.

Its a pretty ambitious trip. Day 1 will be 600 miles, Day 2 will be 460 miles, and the return to Waterloo on Day 3 will be 310 miles.

Day 1 Route

Day 2 Route

Day 3 Route

On the agenda will be several lighthouses, some maritime sites (including Mackinac Bridge and Soo Locks), and of course any unique sites that I come upon.

I hope to get my usual photos of the trip, and will experiment with some video as well.

So stay tuned... the next installment will hopefully be posted friday nite from Mackinaw City, Michigan!
